CT Masonry Wall and Retaining Wall FAQ's

  • While dry-stacked walls look beautiful and the craftsmanship behind them is alluring- they are not the best choice structurally for large retaining structures, especially for our climate in CT.  We can build the wall so it appears dry stacked but is in fact still reinforced with concrete, mortar and metal.  

  • In most towns, yes!  We will have to follow local height restrictions, and also keep your project budget in mind.

  • Yes, there is a large difference in the structure of "paver block" walls and natural stone walls.  Both can look beautiful and last an incredibly long time.  However, in most cases, natural stone walls stand up better to the test of time- often standing strong for many decades.  

  • Depending on project specifics, CMU walls, boulder walls, paver block walls or roundstone and mortar walls can be more affordable options.
